Wine List

Beringer Vineyards is a large winery in St. Helena, California. Founded in 1876, Beringer Vineyards is “the oldest continuously operating winery in the Napa Valley”, and is listed under both the National Register of Historic Places and as a  California Historical Landmark. In 1934 it was the first California winery to offer public tours and wine tasting following the repeal of Prohibition.

In 1939, Beringer invited attendees of the Golden Gate International Exposition to visit the winery; the winery also invited Hollywood stars including Clark Gable, Charles Laughton, and Carole Lombard to visit. And with that, we have chosen to house pour this Extra-ordinary Selection.

A very soft wine; there’s the typical red fruits you’d expect in a selection so be fitting to our Jamaican culinary practices and endorses the wonders of a unique pallet from any part of the globe but they’re subtle and smooth. It has just enough body to work and a slightly dry ending which is good otherwise it would be insipid and indistinct.

Chateau Mont Redon Chatea uneuf Du Pape

Chateau St. Jean Pinot Noir

This is how Pinot Noir should be when properly done: smooth drinking, rich flavor, an elegant nose, and an enjoying finish. Cherry, plum, cocoa, and spices on the nose with licorice in the background. Garnet unconcentrated color, higher body, crisp but mellow acidity, fruity palate, soft tannins, and a cocoa plummy finish.

Michele Redde Pouilly Fume

Winery: Michel Redde
Grapes:  Sauvignon Blanc
Region: Pouilly-Fumé
Regional styles: Upper Loire White
Food pairing: Pork, Shellfish, Spicy food, Vegetarian, Goat cheese

Pouilly-Fumé is the other revered wine of the Loire, the other side of the river from Sancerre. The Fumé is from Blanc Fumé, the nick of Sauvignon Blanc, meaning “smoky” referring to the gun-flinty aroma of local SB grape & limestone-clay terroir. Powerful, restrained nose of lime, apple & lychee overlaid by slate & gunflint. Minerals galore with assertive, grippy acids which softened up with time in glass. Excellent w/ Chinese food.

Dark fruit and earthy flavors. Blackberry, chocolate, and plum dominate the palette. Biome earthy undertones add depth so this is not a fruit bomb. Opens after 30 minutes to reveal a medium black licorice aftertaste.

Nice young #pinot from one of the most known negociant. Good for learning what a pinot noir is! Red sherry open color, not bright at all! The is very expressive with wild berries, strawberry jam, dry blue flowers and animal farm (my typical pinot noir aroma) nice nose! A pity the mouthfeel, nice dryness, ripe tannins, good acidity but not so well balanced. This wine is still in puberty!!! Only can get better.

New: Wine ‘Apparently Safe’ for Type 2 Diabetics: New Report

A healthy diet, coupled with a daily glass of wine, can help diabetics, the researchers found
The paper, published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, is a summary of findings from the CASCADE (CArdiovaSCulAr Diabetes and Ethanol) trial, in which 224 participants with type 2 diabetes who previously abstained from alcohol were instructed to drink a glass of either red wine, white wine, or water each day, and follow a Mediterranean diet. The researchers, a team from Israel’s Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, have previously published papers on specific aspects of the trial, but the new report rounds up the major findings.
